Testimonials

Meet our founder: Lana Wilhelm

When her husband suffered a serious stroke in 2021, Lana Wilhelm’s life was turned upside down. A registered nurse, Lana had an insider’s understanding of the healthcare system. But suddenly, she was on the other side – a caregiver for her spouse, faced with a multitude of daunting challenges and limited resources to which she could turn. At that moment, Lana understood her calling. She launched Stroke Caregiver Connection, published two books and has become a leading advocate for caregivers.Lana speaks to both professional groups and fellow caregivers, publishes a blog and newsletter, hosts a podcast and provides one-to-one support and consultation.

the Stroke Caregiver Connection Podcast

When a family member suffers a stroke, the patient’s spouse or loved one is instantly thrust into the role of caregiver–an overwhelming, lonely journey for which they are unprepared, support is inadequate or nonexistent and the caregiver’s own needs are typically unmet.

Lana Wilhelm was one of those people. After her husband’s stroke in 2021, as Lana struggled to navigate their new normal, she dedicated herself to helping other caregivers. Through her books, speaking engagements, interviews and counseling, Lana has become recognized as a leading advocate for caregivers.

Now she has taken her deep knowledge and experience and turned it into a podcast. Featuring a new episode every month, the Stroke Caregiver Connection podcast dives into the world of caregiving, providing invaluable information and insights you won’t find anywhere else.

Designed for caregivers and medical professionals alike, and featuring interviews with experts in the field, this podcast is a must listen for anyone who is a caregiver or who loves someone who is.
